Fencing Project Description
Bluedog Fences was contacted to supply and install Custodian metal loop top fencing and Palisade security fencing at the Berowra Platform 3 Project. The loop top fencing served as a pedestrian barrier fence inside the station while the palisade fencing was to provide perimeter security fencing.
The majority of the fencing was fixed to concrete foundations with base plate posts fixed using chemical anchors.
Specific Challenges of the Fencing
The fencing was constructed adjacent to operational railway tracks, meaning strict installation worksite protection controls were in place. It was also an extremely busy site with multiple subcontractors working to very tight schedules in close proximity. Bluedog Fences construction staff developed innovative jigging systems to speed up the fence installation. The fencing was completed on time and included fast-tracking of a number of client variations.
Specialist static-line fall arrest systems were employed to managing working at height risks.
