Client: City of Tea Tree Gully (South Australia)
Fence Type: Modular cycleway fencing with ‘bump’ rail (1200mm high). Metal fence materials and ‘bump’ rail finished in an aesthetically pleasing and long lasting powder coat finish in pale eucalypt.
Fencing Project Description
Bluedog Fences was contracted to design, manufacture and install 'full' and 'partial' barrier cycleway fencing in high risk zones along the cycleway (bike path) like steep embankments. The primary feature of the desired safety fence is cyclists (and their bicycles) should be able to brush against the fence at speed and not be injured or 'caught' as a result.

Specific Challenges of the Fencing
- Design, prototype and manufacture a modular fence solution from the concepts developed during the tender process in a demanding time frame.
- Install a cycleway fence fully compliant with Austroads Standard AP-11.14 99 Part 14 – Bicycles.
- The fence design uses only mechanical fixings avoiding the need for on-site welding negating associated corrosion.
- Modular fence design is considerably faster and cheaper to install compared to custom fabrication fencing products.
